Released from pretty much ZERO security prison a year ago. Ive worked in tax for 20 years. I was convicted of tax fraud . NO ONE will touch me, regardless of the amount of information i can provide small business clients. Should i just give up searching to be hired?

Try working in forensic accounting to catch fraud. Give seminars on how companies can prevent fraud. Do videos build a following.

At the IPT the most impressive seminar was on fraud when the guy came in wearing the orange prison jumpsuit.

“Pretty much zero security prison” is still a lot more prison that we’ve been to.

Just to be clear, you were convicted of tax fraud and can’t get hired as a tax accountant? And you’re confused?

like

Not confused. Just reaching for hope.

As a tax professional, i need to know how that happened so I can avoid it.

I appreciate the honesty.

Compliance question here, I have always thought of the SALT deduction on the fed return as a perm item & have treated as such in such sch M-3. I see that some people put it as a temp on sch M-3. What is the justification for treating it as a temp on the M-3. You don’t set up a deferred on the def RF for the state tax deduct & it is also a rate impacting item (I know that some temps can be rate impacting). But this all leaves me to side with perm. Does anyone know the logic behind temp treatment?

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

Why do leaders keep comparing how “good”the new staff/seniors have it because they make more money starting out then they did and working 55 hours is better than the 70-80 hours they used to work? Instead they should compare what options they have available to them and what their goals are.
