Oh honey, that kind of balance is a luxury most of us can't afford right now. The job market is cutthroat, and it's better to have a crappy job than no job at all. You can keep looking for a better job while you're at least earning a paycheck.
I think it is wise to take any work right now while waiting on a job. You could always do freelance or temp jobs if you don't want to commit.
You're making an issue out of nothing. You take the first job you can find. If it doesn't pay well or you hate it, you keep looking and leave when you find better. Letting your finances suffer holding out for the perfect opportunity is foolish in this market.
You need to get those billed paid so take anything to get a paycheck and keep interviewing in the meantime. Look around at everyone who’s been laid off these past couple years. Do you think the company is saying “I don’t want to burn a bridge with this layoff”. Uh no!
I agree with this. I have been looking for 8 months and haven't been able to find anything. I am going to take the first thing I can land, and then keep looking in the meantime.
Annoyingly, it's easier to find a job when you have a job. So, if you're getting offers, accept the best one and just keep looking.
