Shooting a variety of small projects for businesses since 1996 in and around the GTA. I enjoy shooting product, liquor, food, people on location, editorial. Recently getting my feet wet with producing cinemagraphs and some stop-motion animation.
No clients for that yet, but I can see my work heading in that direction as a specialization.

I have aspirations of shooting for clients such as VIA Rail, Nova Scotia Tourism, Lindt Chocolate, Blundstone and Jaguar.
Hey, a guy can dream.

I am a sixth-year associate overseeing a second year. They are an exceptionally good associate. I am honestly shocked at the work product I receive and the way they go above and beyond. The issue I have is that they sometimes take awhile to turn things around. For example, I ask for a draft response to the client, and they take three-four days. I know they’re busy, but I would like to address this in a positive way. Any suggestions?

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of getting into copywriting as something to soon the side but I have no experience doing it. What steps should I take (books to read, gigs to start with or pursue, etc) if I want to go from $0 and next to ) experience to $40k or so a year?

Right now I’m currently unemployed and taking a break from my fine art stuff to try to get back into tech sales, but I was looking to expand my skill set and also generate extra money at the same time.

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?
