I’m not a fan of the sprint races either. Seems to diminish the point of qualifying
I think they give qualifying too much importance. How you qualify is how you finish in sprints for the most part.

bye.
He won’t quit. Especially if they are still winning races by 10+ seconds
I think that’s all a rumor
He’s too good of a driver, too young, and too competitive to quit regardless of if he hates the format

He thinks it's packing too much into the weekend, and when he's made comments like this in the past it's been in regards to how it impacts the broader team (i.e., more work for the mechanics and late nights for the engineers).
I do think he has a point regarding the new Sprint race format not matching the DNA of formula 1. This isn't a spec series, it's an engineering series. I want to see the fastest cars in the world tuned as best they can for an amazing race on Sunday, not loads of action everyday. It takes away from the event Sunday the more they try to prop up the rest of the weekend.
Also, selfishly, I can just about find time to watch every race live, and most qualifyings. With the new format, there's no way I can make time for that. It's turning it into baseball where you're okay missing games versus football where you want to watch every game - and I think that's a huge trap.

Honestly, I think he has an excellent point regarding the future of the sport.
There's a danger of watering the product down too much.
What exactly does he not like?
I’m guessing it’s because Red Bull typically needs all 3 practice sessions to get the set up right. Last season Red Bull during the sprint weekends was the least competitive they had been all season. I don’t think he actually would retire, he’s probably lobbying so the fia doesn’t add more sprint races
I think he’s just an amazing troll. He doesn’t like it and just says it. And they’ll probably not expand it so he won’t keep complaining about them lol
Sprint races are to F1 what T20 cricket is to ODI and ODI is to Test Match.
I think it's a good test of ability and engineering and strategy if you have to weigh it up - especially if it actively impacts your WDC or Constructor's cup.
