Globant India Pvt. Ltd. Hi Globers ! I have an offer from Globant for the role of a BA. While discussing the role with HR pre and post the interviews & offer, I had specifically ask the HR to tag me to Ahmedabad location as that's my hometown and I do not wish to relocate. But she has rolled out the offer for Pune location ane verbally ( isn't giving me in writing ) assured me that the location will be flexible. May I know from the fellow Globers if we have location flexibility or WFH option available? Globant India Pv

But seems like they are not willing to release the offer because of my 90 np . They are asking to join by 60 days but initially I told them my NP is 90. Even I am ready to take the 60 days offer but now they are not releasing offer as they want assurance. Now they are not picking calls.seems like i will loose the offer. Is there anything can be done.

On one hand, it’s cool to see representation. On the other hand, the goal is to have a diverse and inclusive agency. Not to segregate us into a single all black team in your 90% white company. And remember - this team wasn’t built by us. The Resources Dept seems to acting as if we’d all be better off “amongst our own kind” rather than integrated into the office like normal. Anyway, still figuring out how I feel about this.
Preach. Similar situation for me. “Why we all together?!”
I understand why you feel conflicted about it, I really do. That being said, as the only Black person on my team out of maybe 15 at the company (that I've seen) I can't help but be jealous, for me that would be great. To each their own, and it's likely that the resources dept does think that honestly, but I would give anything to be in your situation currently.
What accounts are you on? That definitely matters.. as long as they are expecting you to only make work for one demographic, then it might not be that much of an issue. May even feel like a safe space…
Very much “general consumer” accounts. I tried asking myself this same question (and dozens others) before reaching my conclusion. My first instinct is always “am I making an issue out of this?” But nah - there’s nothing black-specific about the work we create.

Damn y'all complain about some weird shit in this bowl. This is still advertising and advertising is still very white. Getting a bunch of Black folks around you should be a good thing regardless of how they come in. Y'all can band together and make things work. I'm sorry if this reply isn't what you want to hear but smh
The “weird shit” is your company (a bunch of white people) deciding for you where you belong based on your skin. Segregation -decided by white people- based on some “separate but equal” stuff doesn’t help anyone. Well, maybe them, since they keep us in our place.
If me and you meet at work, enjoy each other, and decide to band together as friends and coworkers - great. If Karen from HR decides that you and me SHOULD get along, because “I dunno…they’re both black”, and starts deciding what briefs and projects we get based on that, I think you can imagine how that’s a weird situation.
No that is really weird. You’re basically being “othered” but at scale. Most of us in advertising have rare opportunities where we’re not the only one so might seem like a dream to some. In this case I would say if you’re able to do good work and grow your career then it may be an “it is what it is” situation. I would be concerned about if your growth opportunities are limited to within that team tho.
What agency is this? I want to work there. I’ve never had a black creative on my team ever and I’ve worked in the business for over 10 years.
I understand your concern but seeing as I’m one of two black people at my agency I’m envious. I want cookout culture and all I get is the picnic
I honestly couldn’t and still can’t name one other black person in my agency and this years diversity survey proved it.
