What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
Hoping to get in touch with #Peraton recruiter! I have about 9 months left in Air Force where I work in cyber defense and vulnerability management, have a BA in cybersecurity, sitting for CISSP and have lots of certs. Would love to chat with someone about opportunities. Hold a clearance and could technically start in 7 months. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you.
What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

I think it's pretty unsurprising and even though I personally don't want to be in office, I sort of understand the general instinct to want to make government work a little more accountable given the fact that our job security is so strong. I still think they could have given us hybrid models though. No need to be in office 5 days
If that indeed does happen, going to the commercial sector of my space.
Waiting to see what the agency does. It’s gonna take at least a month for everything to be fully implemented anyway, and the EO leaves a LOT of leeway for agency discretion.
:(
I have seen blatant abuses of the system, even in the private sector with health insurance companies. When you call the aforementioned entities, you are in a long cue, sometimes for several hours. Call-back options are laughable. If you do speak to someone, and you end up having to be transferred, count on being disconnected. Hearing babies screaming in the background does not make you feel confident that your case is being handled professionally. Many people are searching for good jobs right now. If someone refuses to return to the office, they should consider retirement or changing jobs.
Those issues have nothing to do with working form a physical office space. What you are describing is a symptom of poor call center management, where people are paid sub par wages, understaffed shifts, and improper support. Insurance companies are on everyone’s list these days, they are designed to make the process of contacting HELL.
If the motivation is to save money, then it would be better to close office space and let people work remote. Requiring employees in person is a red flag, these are people who micromanage and do not trust people to do what they were hired to do.
I don't know why anybody is taking it hard. He said he was going to do that as soon as he became president. If you still want a job you're going to do what's needed for the family regardless of whether you're working from home or you're working in a building. The way I see it if you value your job and you love it regardless of what you're doing it just do the best you can and if you don't like it then find another job where you get to work from home that's it. Welcome to voting for a President who wants things done different
@SC1 - It's looking grim for DETOs, but it's possible it will change. The language I saw in one memo stated, "Existing Domestic Employee Teleworking Overseas (DETO) agreements will remain in place until the conclusion of the sponsoring employee's assignment overseas." So those in place are good for now. But I've also received language from an embassy stating, "Future DETO arrangements are unlikely to be accepted." I hope to hell this is a lot of posturing, but I agree they are actively causing **unnecessary** hardship. The cruelty is the point.
JMO, if I were a federal employee, I wouldn't talk about my job on any sort of social media.
Absolutely agree.
It's a prehistoric way of doing business. To save money, eliminate the lease on all those empty buildings. Want to save the environment? Don't force people to sit in traffic for long hours back and forth daily, polluting the air.
We had all heard it was coming so not a huge surprise for any of us. However, I do have to say we are not seeing anything immediate where I am. Will be interesting to see how the freeze works out too. Agree there is still a lot of leeway, but just kind of waiting and seeing too.
I've always assumed this would be coming eventually. Private industry has been turning against remote work for a while, and these things just tend to spread through society as a general trend. Having President Elon giving the orders makes it insulting, of course, but I think it was just inevitable and was going to happen sooner or later.
Never had the option to begin with
There is nothing not allowed. Just because a politician says something over and over again doesn't make it a reality. My best guess is it will take 2 to 3 years before any new union agreements are made. However in the next month or so they will lie with made up numbers and claim a win.
