Just got an offer for a Sr. AWS DevOps role at 145K, I will be working remotely 100% with maybe 5% travel, if any. No bonus with this company. I have over 8 years of DevOps and AWS, all AWS certs . Should I be asking for more $? Thoughts on the offer and how much more $ I should be asking for ? Current location is kinda irrelevant since I will be working remotely.

Not in IB or ER, but I have to ask (per CFA study), how common is it to run in to troublesome pension accounting issues? It seems like most companies have/are going the way of DC plans and away frm DB

Am I too old? Too old to chase a wild dream of living in a beach town? Too old to follow a hunch? Too old to sell everything and start over somewhere else? Some days I feel like I am. With parents in failing health and a grandpa that is lonely most of the time, I feel obligated to stay here. To keep living the life that “makes sense”. I’m 32 single, no kids, own my home, essentially have life by the tail. I live an hour from where I grew up. Feel like I don’t fit in with my friends anymore…
I am looking for a new data science job. Any leads here? I prefer to be in the Washington DC area or remote. I would like to stay in the healthcare space.
Been 6 months since my i140 was Approved. Just started my 5th year of H1B, priority date not current and I’m from India. Would it be any risk if I were to switch employers now even if my new employer’s PERM is delayed/denied/RFEd? Can I get my unlimited H1B extensions based on my current employer’s approved i140?
What is everyone thinking about sending their kids back to school in a few weeks? From a safety standpoint, I want kids to stay home, but from a learning and mental wellbeing standpoint, obviously kids benefit most from physically being the classroom. I also don’t know how parents are going to manage working from home as well as monitoring their kids throughout the school day. (Let’s keep this respectful)

Anyone know if I need to buy separate travel insurance to get a visa on arrival in Dubai? Can’t I just use the one which comes with my Chase Sapphire Reserve.
To what extent can we talk about our clients we served on when speaking with recruiters vs hiring managers of the actual company? (Name of the client, nature of work, etc)
My SO got a great job offer in Bangkok and we need to decide soon. I’ve always been very independent and never followed a partner to another city or country. Will it be bad for my career to join him even while there is a little change I can find a job in Bangkok? Not sure what to do right now. Due to covid I recently got laid off and am already not in my home country but have lived here over 7 years. Any advice? Me following him or we both try to find another job in the country we are in now.
So my husband recently became a share partner at a firm, which is a bit stressful for us because (i) it’s a big transition and a lot of stress for him and (ii) they are pressuring him to move to NYC (we are based in TX where most of my family live). Anyways, we are planning to have kids, and I’m worried that if we move and have a child that I will alone, also working in biglaw and raising the child alone without help. Anyways, I was wondering other women’s thoughts, experiences and advice.
Does anyone have to work tomorrow (not given Friday off for the holiday? Or is their company giving Monday off instead? Or no holiday at all?
isn't it great when you meet all of your performance objectives and get a strong review but then the company gives you neither a bonus nor a raise
