Only in America do people prioritize business over everything else.
Why?
Because we don’t have a safety net and there’s no universal healthcare.
That’s the cause of the problem. That needs to be fixed. If you don’t fix that ofcourse people are going to fret about their jobs.
We are the only developed country with no universal healthcare. And for those of you say that we don’t need it, you come from a “place of privilege” too.
We found 2.8 Trillion to throw at corporations So to say we can’t find universal healthcare is absolute nonsense.

ASM1: no, malpractice costs are tied more to economy than costs of actual malpractice. I remember reading a few different studies that showed this. I will try to find them and link.

Probably true. It is an extended WFH vacation for most of us.
If they extend lockdown another month without providing a steady income, people will riot. It's already happening.
I don’t know how we should fix this but thank you for sharing this perspective. It’s important for people to understand how the quarantine can be negatively affecting those less privileged. I just wish our govt was able to provide more aid to people to ensure everyone has what they need to safely navigate this new normal.
What was the alternative though in the US? Our government didn't prepare and waited too late to act.
