Lifestyle at this point in my career. I've learned enough and did my time working 50+ hour weeks. I've really taken my foot off the gas the past few years and have zero regrets.
While I think it's important to learn as much as you can in the beginning of your career, lifestyle is just as important Balance is key. Many of us nurses love to learn but you shouldn't sacrifice your lifestyle or health to pursue it. I prioritized learning for years and wound up in an unhealthy lifestyle. Little to no breaks, unrestful sleep, doing more than what was asked, picked up extra shifts to help out, prioritized patients and staff over myself. I became burnout and completely fried my nervous system. Stuck in survival mode and now have been out of work for 6 months because it's affecting my body physically to the point where I can't safely do my job. Finding balance between both worlds is difficult but not impossible. Wishing you all the best!!
