thanks, bot!
If AI were truly the game breaking creative tool that tech bros and hype beasts say it is, they wouldn’t be clamoring at creatives to make the next marvel or Disney film. Tech bros would be using the AI themselves to make that film and selling the film to us.
The fact that they haven’t is because they can’t, or the tool can’t make anything worthwhile that isn’t a derivative or doesn’t infringe on other people’s ideas or IP.
It’s the oldest scam in the book. If they had the goose that lays golden eggs, they would be selling us the eggs. But they don’t have it, they’re letting us rent their shitty goose in hopes that we can maybe make a golden egg or pay the egregious fees to try.
I hate to break it to you but all creative is derived from all past creative so if you think you’re pooing out the only ingenious new ideas you’re just fooling yourself , as currently the best of Hollywood is just Star Wars 12 or Superman 32. Ai is not going to replace creativity!! It’s just a tool. Duh! Like photoshop or after effects or the pencil. It’s up creative minds to think of the next great whatever. As a creative director it baffles me why you can’t see that.
Sigh, who left the rage bait bot on again?
Zzzz you complain about advertising and yet you do nothing about it. Step and repeat for the crusty advertising “creatives” and then you yap about everything when things actually change.
There hasn’t been one single creative person who’s ever made anything worthwhile say that Ai is a good thing
Well, the way things have always been done gave us some pretty cool shit that did kill the planet to make, or look like something out of a dream that leaves you in a weird mood all day.
But since I’m clueless, who are these great creative people kneeling at your altar?
as an "illustrator", you know you no longer have a job, right?
Rising Star
I know this for a fact: there’s nothing creative about you. You’re a superhero movie.
There isn't going to be a future!
People using those assets is entirely different than AI and we both know you know that.
And yes I do because literally every time someone makes something with AI it gets blasted with hate lol
squish me like a bug please

The pick me vibes are strong with this one.
Zzzzzz
People are allowed to be excited for a tool. I think others are scared of the insane and unsustainable hype around it. Like we see a 10 second video and suddenly folks are like it’s the end of everything as we know it.
Gen AI is a fun tool to play with and do spec work with. It’s been offered for free to casual users, but has enormous operational costs. At some point there will need to be a meeting in the middle about cost, and a question about whether these companies are getting enough bang for the buck.
But it isn’t going away, and the exec dreams about pressing a button and pooping out ads might only work for the lowest tier of advertising.
If you’re not amazed about the insane creative potential of ai, you have no idea how to use it and you’re most likely too old or too lazy to even try.

Coming from the tech side, you don’t understand the technology. Sorry if this sounds condescending.
The production costs are your time learning the technology (which you haven’t) and successfully running the model to get what you want. This often takes multiple iterations or another bit of tech that requires a subscription.
The limitations are massive if you want to do something other than concept with it. The models need to be untrained in infringing IP (Sora and MidJourney and any open source model with an unpublished training set are out), your idea must have no likeness to any person, if you use a character reference of a real life person you still need your BA team to negotiate it. If you want to run it in California you have even more hoops.
It’s amazing tech for hobbyists and for personal use. The reason the companies will fail is they are expensive and don’t have enterprise use cases/adoption.
They will not need your role soon. We’ll see if you are still excited then.
Have you made anything cool with it?
How do you call yourself a “creative “ when you’re so closed to new ideas and tools??
IMO the real winners are the bootstrapped startups and solopreneurs that can’t afford ad agencies or even fiver freelancers to create marketing materials. It democratizes the marketing landscape for the little guys who don’t have the same resources as the bigger brands. But for ad agencies, I personally think the value is in the concept phase, mocking up storyboards into mini films, influencer content, etc. Because it helps sell in the idea when clients can visualize it.
However, I think the public is eventually going to tire of the lack of actual humanity, and ignore ads even more than they already do, if we get to a point where nothing we produce is real from top brands that can afford to pay for real humans and real productions.
IF, on the other hand, brands said they were reducing the prices of their products because they saved SOOO much money using AI for their advertising, no one would care, because they’re benefiting. But let’s get real - financial benefits to the company never trickle down to the consumer. I mean, nobody enjoys talking to a robot when they call customer service, no matter how much money it saves a company, and there’s no benefit to the consumer to have to press 1, followed by “I didn’t quite get that” and every other frustration when you just want to talk to a live human. Not that companies give a single fck about what their customers enjoy.
