Spending my entire Saturday on a take-home assignment just to receive an auto rejection is such a downer. There is no way they actually reviewed the 400 lines of code I wrote, or anything else I did. Should we start putting tracking pixels in our take-home projects to see if they even open the files?

If I was a second or third choice candidate for a role, and ultimately got an offer, is it fair game to inquire with the recruiter as to why the initial candidates declined? And should this fact weigh into my decision process?

Say I had a “friend” who gained 15 Covid lbs but is still on dating apps with old pics. Is that considered catfishing? She’s not overweight, but not fit anymore. Still good looking...she suspects. Is it best to update the pics? Or get on a BBW dating app? Definite fear of rejection at meeting. Thank God I’m asking for a friend because this shits embarrassing to type.
