Think if you had an intent to commit a crime this would be burglary.
True
I went in house. I’ll say I relod to fl. If you have to be in office 5 days a week and if you have to relo I’d say consider strongly. I love my job but those 2 things have removed any QOL factor compared to big law
Though obviously not the same scenario, I found myself second guessing leaving big law to go to a small firm and take a pay cut. I hate change and even though I actively sought the new opportunity once it was *this close* I started to second guess whether I could take the pay cut and worried about culture, etc.
Thankfully, I convinced myself to work past the hesitation and it's been great. My salary here is actually more than I'd make in biglaw because firm management gets to decide what to pay based on what they feel. They also give better bonuses, including random discretionary bonuses to acknowledge individuals who are doing more than their job description.
All that to say, it's normal to have some slight hesitation, but if after having gone through the whole interview process the feeling is more like concern than worry, I'd take note of that.

Ive turned down 2 in house offers cuz they weren't right for me at the time and haven't regretted it
If you were excited about the position before and it’s now mostly second-guessing without specific concerns, remember you can always go back to a firm later. Despite what others fear, the in-house experience can be a real asset at a firm, and especially if you change your mind after a year or two and are willing to not get much class credit for your time in-house it’s very doable to go back
Why are you second guessing? And be honest with self? Is the pay okay? Does the work seem interesting? Can you go back in a year or less?
Hm...if you're not at 70-90% certain, dont leave.
