Why would you voluntarily wear a suit
This
Be smart enough to hear the message your colleague is trying to give you and blend in.
You should assimilate to the culture there.

When in Rome…
Where what you want but if everyone is casual at least try business casual. Save yourself the dry cleaning.
Wear*. Yikes
I think it’s that the personality type that would not try to assimilate to the culture at their office and instead prefers to stand out is generally a red flag to everyone. We have an associate that wears suits and he’s insufferable. You don’t need to wear hoodies but you can dress business casual - just don’t wear a suit jacket and tie? Or switch out your shirt for a polo some days! It’s so simple?
Even when I was in BL I felt weird about the people who came in in formal suits when they weren’t going to court. And yes, the only person I ever saw wearing a hoodie around the office was a share partner lol.
Come on. If you’ve been in BL you know that most people don’t actually dress that fancy. You don’t have to try to make a point with your dress
Aw, you remind me of the guy who used to wear full suits to my liberal arts college classes! Others were in flip flops and Pokemon t-shirts. He was known to all as the Jackass. Yes, he was a poli sci major.
I believe if you like to wear a suit, wear it. Dress for success and make sure your work product matches.
Can you share more about this fun work?!
I hear you on this. I’m torn between making the effort to blend in or not. I always felt that some of my coworkers didn’t like seeing me dressed up or going the extra mile with my work because they didn’t want me to set a higher standard for them. I could be wrong.
You dress for the position you want. Be a leader bruv
Hahaha that happened to me too I was so out of place at my first boutique coming from big law. But now I am at a boutique founded by a senior partner who spent his entire career in big law and everyone comes to the office in a suit even on a Friday so I can dress up again 😂
I wear a shirt and jacket daily, and a tie on court days.
