Started in May - my boss (small SaaS doing WMS) has halted my commissions on a deal I have closed (albeit with his support), and all future deals, until he feels that I am field ready. I'm a bit upset as I was not given any formal training and the documentation I was given was not very concise for someone new to WMS. There has also been a disconnect with the expectation of WFH and coming into the office, it was meant to be 2x a week but is now 4x.

Is it too early to look elsewhere?

(OP) The commissions are not great either, I was surprised at how little I would be making, should it be paid out.

Work harder or leave.

No, it's not too early to leave.

If you fulfilled every written requirement for your quota and associated credit & compensation, and then it got withheld for such a silly reason, then you shouldnt be working there.

It's a huge yellow flag. If they did it once for some dumb reason, they'll do it again for another dumb reason.

Don't get bitten by the same hole twice.

Managers should train and reps should get paid Do you like not getting paid for your work? I would leave Bad signs

Do most tech/SaaS companies make prospective employees sign NDAs? I'm interviewing for the first time in awhile and am entering into a final round with a company who wants me to sign an NDA prior to the interview. I'm hesitant to do so - especially since I am not sure if I even want to work for this company yet. Is this standard procedure?

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

2 months later and I am still waiting...

Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

Is it a red flag if, after almost two years in a full quota carrying and selling role I want to take a lower role at another company in order to break into a field (tech sales) I want to work in? It’s better pay - closer to home and at a company with a better reputation?

“We are fully remote”

Me : Awesome so no travel required at all?

“Well you need to come to the office 3 times a week and the other two you will be popping into potential customers on site”

Me: So not remote at all…?

“No we’re remote, you get two days traveling not in the office”

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?
