Started studying for far last week and barely made it F1:M2. I remember a lot from M1. Now I’m struggling with M3 and M4. The words problems aren’t so bad but the math is tripping me up. Having a hard time finding what study method works for me. I’ve never been a studier or note taker. Any advice on study methods?

I feel like when I was studying FAR, I rarely remembered things from the module that I was previously studying. Everything was a blur. The mini exams helped me refresh on previous material a little. I literally felt so dumb when I would get my practice exam score back and it was consistently in the high 50% to low 60s. I ended up getting an 85 on the real thing, so I hope that this gives you a renewed sense of hope! Also #humblebrag lol

Create your own method and discover the most convenient and easiest way in how to learn things. Don't compare yourself with others because what works for them may not work for you.

I received an offer from a company I met at a career fair. The salary was less than my other two offers but the location was where I wanted to be. Tried to negotiate, & they said they couldn’t negotiate higher. So I declined. I reached back out to the recruiter I met at the career fair and she said “ I thought an offer was made to you?” Told her I was interested in exploring other options. No response. Sent a follow up email w/no response. Is she ignoring me on purpose? I really like the company

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

California peeps. I have a feeling I failed FAR, which is my last exam, but my score isn’t released until May 11. Can I submit the reapplication with the CA Board of Accountancy to speed up the retake and NTS process in case I failed? Or do I need to get my exam score first? I need to pass by mid June, else my REG score expires, hence the rush to resubmit the re-application.

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.
