I was wondering if anyone works as a medical examiner assistant (gov) and what your salary is?

I am a Certified Pharmacy Technician, with 21 years of experience. I work at an independent pharmacy outside of Charlotte, NC. I make $18.75 an hour and had to fight/beg for that. I do not feel that I am being paid near enough for the work I do. I am wondering what others in the area make, so I can go back to my boss and ask for more. I am so fed up, I want to move on to something else, but I have no idea where to start.

I am prior military and went to law school. I teach middle school reading intervention, but I am noticing a high amount of students at our school do not have any phonemic awareness. What are you best ways to combat this?

Anyone have any good advice for getting students to think/respond on their own? So many times when I ask them to write their own thoughts about something and to explain why they hold that opinion, many students get stuck and/or turn to the Internet. What era/genre would you say we're living in right now?

When beginning a piece of literature, I first help the kids access the relevant culture. I have used web quests, but I have found that the kids researching their choice of topics and creating Slides containing information and pics results in more students participating. Recently they researched heraldry for the Medieval Era and reproduced either a family crest that they found or created their own personal crest. Anyone have other activities they use?

Those of you who do First Chapter Fridays or similar read-alouds, do you edit out curse words when you’re reading?
