Advice and tips for a first time rental property investor?

I am 24 saving up for my first property to purchase at the end of 2021 / early 2022 in the Long Island, NY area.

I’d like to save up around $50K in my HYSA for a property <$400K in LI. Does this sound reasonable?

Does anyone have any advice on investing in the LI area (best location, SFH v MFH) or just general first time rental property buying advice?

I’m seriously enatkng to get into an SE role and have been searching for Associate Sales Engineers that do NOT require SE experience since I’ve none. It’s proving to be difficult. Most companies for some reason are requiring 2-3 years of experience for the Associate role. 😭 Any Sales Engineers who know of companies hiring those with no experience? I joined on 28th November and was told that the payroll team will contact me before 15th for payroll setup.

I have opened a new salary account with icici for gds but still have not been contacted by payroll team.

Will I get salary this month or will it be carried over to next month as my payroll is not setup and in orientation it was told that the cutoff date is 15th of every month.

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
