Since 2020 I’d say
Ha was just thinking the same. 60k is fine, honestly.
Agree. Think it’s a case of people having friends who are bankers/lawyers etc and looking up to their lifestyles and not realising that if you’re single and don’t have children £60k is a good salary (yes … even if renting in London)
Depends plenty of factors:
1. are you single?
2. Do you have kids?
Do you have student loan?
Then
1. Can you save money?
2. Live alone?
3. Travel as much as you want?
Believe it or not, I moved into London on 30k in beginning of 2022 and was fine. Sure I lived in zone 3 and didn’t go put everyday but I was quite comfortable in a house share.
I am currently on 42 working the same job and working remotely from Manchester. Fingers crossed I will be on 50+ by the end of Q1
What about 60k with the same amount in savings?
Expecting to have your own bathroom and kitchen isn’t so much to ask in most parts of the world… apparently it is in London. Blame the policymakers who clamp down on housing supply so housing prices and mortgages and the profits for banks funding their campaigns keep getting higher.
