-for those now suddenly unemployed, and
-for those who didn't get laid off but are now dealing with a bleak looking workplace

I was recently laid off and I am actively search for a new role. I am mainly targeting ScrumMaster, Product Analyst, and Business Analyst jobs, but I am open to others.

Must be located in Austin, Texas or fully remote.

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.

Right now, severance pkg. and a more senior title are most important. Has anyone negotiated a title bump? Outcome?

Are there additional benefits I should also consider?

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

When you say your salary jumped __x, how is that exactly calculated?

Mine was $16k (minimum wage before joining corporate) > $40k (contractor total before getting laid off) > $150k (current FT)?

Is that a 260% jump or 2.6x from $16k to $40k?
And a 375% jump or 3.75x from $40k to $150k?

Or do I calculate it by hourly rate?

Boyfriend has seemed to be dropping a ton on me lately, even after I got bad news that my company is t doing so hot this week and layoffs are approaching. First it was that we may be moving to another state for his job, then it was that his brother may need to move in with us for a few months after he graduates

It’s just a bit overwhelming at this time and I’m not sure how to communicate through all of this being thrown at me. 3 yrs together and we were friends for many years before that.

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?

Are people still live on here? I was diagnosed last year with ADD and I’ve tried two stimulants so far. I know they aren’t meant to be a magic pill but I’m still struggling with general tasks and feel like I’m doing the bare minimum. The Nurse has suggested I try non stimulants. I’m so burnt out

I had a creative Director question my worth and said the only reason I’m in this industry is because of MAIP (as if it was a bad thing). I been unsure how I should handle it and would love advice❤️

Question for 2020 summit:
Is there ever a perfect time to switch your role in an agency (Strat to account, account to creative etc.)? Or do you have to start from the ground up?

While in my job hunt, I notice there are much more open roles for mid and sr level creatives. What’s the best way for a jr to get their foot in the door.

I’ve spoken to a POC who says DEI feels exclusionary in her opinion, because she wants to help everyone. Have you ever worked with a POC who are not interested in the DEI initiatives?

Is food something we can discuss for the Summit? If not, can we address tokenism in the industry? Like what are actionable steps to break out of that in ‘diverse’ agencies? It’s hella annoying.

How do you stay motivated in an industry that is seemingly unimportant when put into perspective of other macro cultural trends and world events?

Working at a place with less then 10% POC total. Then watched as the majority of those folks left after less than a year. This virtual work environment has reminded me how much MAIP used to anchor me to a physical sense of community.

Do you have any tips/advise for someone who was laid off recently and early in their career?
