There is a 1st time for everything. I have been doing this for over a decade, but right now I am feeling... weird? I just saw my quarterly check that is coming & it's hard not to feel blessed, & like a fraud at the same time. I have already out earned my wife for the year, before my Q2 check. She's a police officer & works more me. My checks are larger than a full year at my previous job. I know I busted my bum to get here, & this is how it works, but I was raised middle class. Surreal!

Congratulations and like our peers said: no need to feel a fraud at all. You are receiving the blessings of your hard work and dedication. What you put in eventually multiply and you are rewarded. Feel grateful and pay it forward.

Matter fact, you can start paying forward with a question and some advise I would like to ask you based on your professional experience because I’m in the industry but specifically around insurance and I’d like to change firms and or structure. I’m sure I can get clarity with you. Please accept my DM. Thank you and congratulations again! You deserve it !

What firm do you work at?

It's a Midwest regional.

I agree with FSP1. No need to feel like a fraud. If you still feel that way, move past it quickly. There is a high level of trust you work with. Being an FA can at times is technical as well. You bring a lot of skill sets to the table. Not to mention receiving those licenses are a chore. Series 6 and 7, I will never forget those.

I've been in the industry for over 10 years and every now and again, I have that impostor syndrome kick in, but I recognize it and move past it quickly. There are 23 others in my agency, so they do not need me to become distracted.

Does anyone here freelance (in design or deckmaking) on top of their full time position? How does that work?

Hello all. My company just went through an acquisition and the company did some restructuring of job titles. When they did this we were all advised the company would be making sure our jobs pay aligned with the national average.
My issue with this is my job title went from a Technical Support Supervisor to a Customer Success Team Lead. I have voiced my concerns with management but have been advised job titles are semantics. In my eyes this is a demotion, and will affect how much my job is worth.

Looking for some advice as I am considering relocating to US. How difficult is for HR professionals to get a work visa? I think from what I read I qualify under eb3 (no master yet) or h1b. How do for do about looking for positions that sponsor your visa? I'm in the defense sector and have previously healthcare and financial services experience. Also worked in global matrix organisations with US teams so know the culture quite well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
