Need to light more money on fire for AI.
Figure is $250,000,000,000 AI investments combined between meta and msft, who announced a voluntary SIP
Meta needs money to spend on an ai model they will never have a consumer facing value proposition for that could work (as their trust levels are gutter level)
It’s painful to see when you know people, see the impact.
With Meta, Microsoft, KPMG and Nike announcements all in one day…this is a bit much. Very demoralizing
It’s all over the news, google it
Meta investing in AI, meanwhile my Meta app gets increasingly worse, blasting me with suggested groups that couldn't POSSIBLY have come from my usage history, like "Babysitting trade group in Morocco" (I'm in NYC and have no children).
Didn’t they just have layoffs weeks ago?
Need to lay off 10% to invest in AI infrastructure that will allow them to lay off 30% more.
10% is casual?😱
Remember when people believed AI was going to be good for society?
To be honest, tech company workers are notoriously lazy and add no value to society, so this is just smart belt tightening.
I don’t think anyone believes that but corporations including EY continued drilling into your head that it’s not there to replace you it’s there to help you. The truth is they’re lying. If AI replaces all white collar work we’d have a disaster on our hands, though.
