Big law specialist with an offer to be the CFO and GC of a 250M AUM hedge fund. All in comp would probably be ~$300k, so about $100k less than where I would be in big law (including bonus). Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

I've had a whoop for the past 8 months and since the last firmware update it simply doesn't actively synch and it's basically junk.
