Thinking of ideas is fun. Setting up client meetings is not fun
@Media Planner 1 it's adorable you still think that.
I did it. I was a copywriter early in my career and was constantly being dragged along to talk to clients. I gradually realized that I was not an awesome copywriter and I could make more $ long term on the business side. I am fairly certain this has proved to be true but I am still jealous of how much more fun the copywriters have.
Media is not fun
Strategy, production or PM are the only options that seem transitional.
In my opinion, being a creative is the only role that makes working in advertising even kind of worth it. If I played another role, I dont think I'd see the value in working insane hours in toxic environments for egotistical assholes. But then again, I barely see the value of doing that as a creative (there's got to be a better way), so there's that. 😂
Which non creative role?
Also, why?
Ah. Probably going through a "grass is greener on the other side" phase. Face this almost every other week.
Don't. You'll hate yourself.
Unless you like data and tech shit.
Don't do it. You will hate yourself.
Media is fun!! :)
What do you mean..?
^part of the reason I thought of transitioning to a non-creative role is I've been thinking of getting out of advertising. I kinda hate advertising.
