Fresh out of residency, I'm at a crossroads in my cardiology career. This article provides some good insight, I think, but it's not helping me lean one way or the other. Part of me is drawn to the intellectual challenge and deeper specialization of a fellowship, perhaps in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology. But, there's also a strong pull towards the autonomy and potential financial rewards of private practice. Fellow cardiologists, what factors weighed most heavily in your decision? Did you regret your choice, or would you do it all over again? I'm eager to hear your perspectives!
