Almost done with second weeks in industry. I absolutely LOVE IT! Ive been making a point to reach out to people from different teams via Slack and arrange a quick meet and greet zoom call. Been introducing myself mostly to the heads of each department, head of marketing, head of sales, head of product development. to get a better idea of what everyone does, and asked sales/product for walkthroughs of the products so that I know exactly what we offer as a company

What’s your web camera game for zoom calls these days? Do you use the one in your notebook or got better quality, external one? Just saw my son’s distance learning class where the teacher used two cameras one for face presentation and one over her desk, showing what she writes. I wonder if we all end up using more than one cameras as wfh becomes more and more new normal.

If you have a workgroup license for Slack, doing group video calls and reviews on Slack is better in nearly every way compared to Zoom. You can start group calls in channels so people can hop in and out at will, drawing on shared screens is better, and sending links and files is much easier. I’ve moved all my video meetings there and we are way more productive vs. Zoom. (We save Zoom just for happy hour)

Covid-19 pandemic has taught us that in times of crisis the world doesn't need consultants (unless in industry) Very few buy strategy on zoom Is this the end of vanilla consulting and left to core areas where clients would need help like Private equity commerical due deligence, operate and technology strategy

Presenting part of a plan tomorrow over Zoom. I’m really nervous (I’m presenting the overview slide so nothing strategy or nitty gritty) I have some notes, but don’t want to be looking at them the whole time. I know the info and want to come across like I do. I find I’m more confident over the phone versus zoom. Any tips/advice? Thank you!

I’m just making sure I’m still doing things right for our industry. (I’m in advertising). Good friend runs a small manufacturing company. They are out visiting clients, shaking hands. Dropping off donuts and having dinners. This is nuts right? Please tell me it isn’t just me that is still only connecting via zoom. I’m worried because all of those things were a big part of my job before. But not now.
