This is the worst place to work. They claim to care about their employees THEY DONT. I have been here for a little over a year. Yesterday I got sick in front of a supervisor and I was told to drink a ginger ale and go back to work. Today I am at work with a really bad sinus infection so I asked if I could go home and was told if I leave I get a point. After receiving said point if I am late of sick again I will no longer have a job. They treat us employees like trash.

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

How’s the freelance market in SF right now?

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?
