Disclaimer - not a typical post for this bowl. Wanted to understand more about the mental health services at Google (I already read the high level info on the onboarding portal). I’m starting soon and wanted to ask what Googlers thought of the available resources. My mental health has taken a hit since fall ‘20 - I tried wellness programs through my current employer (counseling and mindfulness) but felt that the providers were more into utilization of the benefit than trying to solve my issues.

Got laid off from EY. Got offer at McKinsey. FTW. Utilization is not the only way to track success. Leaders should be smart about it. Still love people at EY.

One year in consulting and I'm pretty sure that the travel isn't for me. Should I try to switch to finance or stick it out and let my utilization/chargeability decline until I get a local role?

Thoughts on utilization? Why is this metric so important in the consulting world, beyond ratings/internal contribution? Should this not be the responsibility of the firm rather than individuals?
