Hello! I have an inital call with HR coming up for a non-technical program manager role and I’m anticipating the expected total comp question. I’m coming from a non-tech background so I’m not sure what would be reasonable. Not sure what L level this role would be (it’s titled just Program Manager). Role would be in the Bay Area (currently live in DC). I’ve got 10 YOE, mostly in the government (3 in consulting). Any insight would be helpful!
I am a first year analyst and have only been on the job for 5 months. Currently looking for other opportunities and have an interview lined up. What questions should I expect them to ask about my current employment? Is there anything I shouldn’t say during the interview? This role will pay significantly more than my current role, but is in a different industry so I will need to learn a lot very quickly. Thank you all
Current contract - amazing company that has been vocal about bringing me on when approved but no promises. Contract is $60/hr. I negotiated high due to paying private health ins at high $. I was offered a role at a different company for $105K with a $5K sign on and additional benefits. I expressed my need for a $115K base in our original conversation. Anything less than 115K is a paycut from current $ and if I was offered FTE at current contract. Thoughts on negotiating? I dont want to be greedy

Thoughts on Bristol Myers as an exit?
Should I focus on developing skills (SQL, Agile certifications, etc) or keep on applying for jobs? I want to exit and do strategy. I’m nearing my two mark and coming from IT consulting and haven’t had the best interview luck lately :/
I was recently interviewed for a position at PayTM for DevOps Engineer, and was required to solve a simple search DS/Algo question on Python. After that, I was asked to optimise it's complexity and talk on it further. The interview revolved around using operators (not covered by a standard CKA exam afaik), dangling images reaping automation and ACL/SG on AWS. Just wanted to know if this is an expected format of interview for this position, since it was my first one! YOE = 2

The best decision I made towards my FIRE goal was to move from Europe to the US. I did so at 31 with a NW of $300k. Four years later, my NW is $1.2M as I kept costs low while earning significantly more. My concern now is how to keep a good balance as I know that costs will greatly increase (house, kids..) in the next few years. Has any of you considered moving to Europe to benefit from a cheaper lifestyle once you’ve grown your nest egg?
To the Chinese women in the group whose parents or roots are in the mainland: have any of you been able to get through to your parents on issues of feminism? I read this article today and it resonated with all the frustrating conversations about feminism with my parents. The idea that wanting to have equal opportunity or live free from the shadow of male violence sounds a lot like these “making trouble” excuses the censors use to remove Chinese feminist accounts. **continued in comment** https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/24/world/asia/china-feminism-weibo.html
I am currently a Director at Facebook in a non-tech team (think Marketing, etc.). Google contacted me for an L8 role. Due to stock appreciation and high ratings, I am right below $1M. Can Google match that for non-tech, or should I wait for an L9 role?

Lazard Hello I need some advice. Basically, I am a newbie to IB and I got a first phone interview for an IB Analyst position. It went great and I could feel it. They said there would a super-day. I would like to well prepare for this super day given my background is not finance. Where should I find appropriate materials to study? I may or may not be invited to a super day but I would rather be well prepared. Thanks!
Accepting an offer in IBD, lateraling over from consulting. Opportunity of a lifetime for me so don’t want to lose it.
But timing is horrible. I joined the Army Reserves before this opportunity was on my radar. Interviewed over several months, got the offer, but shipping out in 1 month for training for 6 months.
Do I irreversibly shoot my career by joining and immediately going on LoA? I obviously haven’t mentioned it in the interview process. Or will this be forgotten a couple years in?
