Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

It’s a decent exit if you don’t want to stay in client service, but you will be considered a back office employee and if your goal is to be part of the investment team that likely won’t happen.
Should be a relatively cushy job but will be considered middle office and you’ll be second class to any investment/value creation/capital raising teams. One thing to consider is that valuation work is pretty routine and structured. So as our industry enhances digitally including portco data collection and AI capabilities - valuations will be one of the first areas to get automated and it is already starting to happen.
Do what you want, you know your situation better than I do. I’m just saying consider the trajectory of industry trends and place yourself wisely.
