They’re taking a lot of the partners that have been let go by Big 4 / MBB, so presumably not the best. Equally they are then taking 3 or 4 of those partners team members who again wouldn’t be the best. They won’t win on talent but might do well because of agility and no restrictions and a clear route to market

Most partners from big 4 don’t have what it takes to go it alone. All their work has come to them because they own a particular area of big 4 and clients have come to big 4 specifically to have a big 4 stamp on some work. Met very few partners at pwc who aggressively go out and seek work, which is what unity would need to do

Completely and totally miserable at my firm and just need a space to vent because my friends are tired of hearing about it. I wish the worst part about it was the amount of work, rather than the completely toxic culture, lack of appreciation, arbitrary and back/breaking deadlines, lack of mentorship/feedback/training, and the fact that the associates act like they don’t even know each other. I cry every day and constantly am made to feel stupid for not understanding the highly technical (cont.)

Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Thoughts on long-term (5-30 years) fate of the market for consulting in London? I’m considering a move from outside UK but some have argued that London market is “just a fight over the increasingly diminishing pie”, despite the temporary uptick in consulting work now to deal with corona& Brexit.
