I am about to start my CPA PEP journey and would love to know if anyone here could guide me on the following:

1) What is the time frame of completion that I should be expecting?;
2) Is there a best way to do it? exam resources? tutor?;
3) what is the one piece of advice you would like to give me?; and
4) what would you have done differently and what would you give anything had you known something about CPA in the first place?

Anyone ever quit a job 5 months in without having another one lined up?

Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?

Has anyone used a career coach? Not a recruiter but someone who can give advice on making career changes. Any good names come to mind?

Compared to FRM, CFA is tough because it requires an enormous commitment to complete all three levels

Currently stuck in risk but interested in Cyber. Have done one related engagement from a regulatory perspective. But a lot of posts here making me think it’s harder to break into than I expected (non-technical background). If you had a six sigma green belt / supply chain degree/exp., would you still go through the effort of going into Cyber or take easy risk money being offered / easier transition back to supply chain? 2-3 YOE and trying to decide career course, any advice highly appreciated

2yrs of post-undergrad experience at D and have offers from two FAANG companies. Worth it to stick it out for a couple more years to open up more offers down the road, or should I get out while I can?

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.

Currently on H1B. Trying to decide if I should pursue full-time MBA, or get part-time MBA while working. Just got MBB offer with 30% salary increase. Both MBA programs are top 10.

I am currently working as a Data Science Analyst in Amex and would like to make a switch to Fraud detection/Credit risk modelling in future.(not in a hurry but would like to start preparing for the same)
How should I go about preparing for it? Is MBA the only course?
My current tech stack is Python, Pyspark, Hive, SQL, ML, DL(specifically NLP based). I have already done MS in CS from IIT Kgp.
I am confused mainly cause the tech stack requirement is similar to my role in the company.

How's the ethics exam for VA licensure ?

Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

Anyone take far recently? Took today and have no clue how it went tbh. Sims were pretty toils - felt like I blindly went through them

I’m thinking about leaving EY before passing the CPA exams. Am I able to go ahead and get the experience form signed ahead of passing the exams? I don’t want to talk to my team after I leave.

I’ve taken FAR a few times at this point. I got two 74s and this past one I got a 70. I felt like the last exam (which was a few weeks ago) was extremely harder than the other ones. Has anyone else noticed the exam getting extremely tough? Or do you think I just got a one off?

So took FAR today, felt good about it. For the most part I felt questions were from stuff i ready and felt was easy. Now am not sure if I got everything of it but I also know1/2

So Becker was supposed to charge me $600 to update for unlimited access since my account was due to expire in March. I called them in December to make payment. Now 8months later...they reach out to me saying they only charged $35. I just checked my bank statement and they are right but i don't have $600 sitting around...What do i do? Thoughts?

Hi all! In which order do you recommend studying BEC chapters ? Which ones are heavily tested compared to others ? (For example in AUD A3-A4 were tested for sims and I’ve studied A1-A5-A6)

Scheduled to retake AUD in 4 weeks and take REG 4 weeks after. Ready to finish this beast!
