The Pandora’s box is being opened and normalization of murdering those you don’t agree with is on the rise. It doesn’t matter what side of the aisle you stand with, if you don’t understand what this means for freedom of opinion, you’re blind. Extremism exists on both ends of the horseshoe, and pretending this isn’t a slippery slope we’ve been seeing for years will only make it worse. Violence begets violence. Killing someone for their views is fascism plain and simple. You don’t have to support someone to know their murder is wrong and perpetuates a scary new norm. I found almost all of his opinion vile, but the great thing about opinions is that everyone has the right to their own. And I would like to live in a world where we can continue to have that freedom without fear of getting murdered.

I talk openly with my team in the sense that I say that a lot is going on. No matter what your beliefs are, there is no way that we are all operating with the same emotional capacity that we were even months ago. Things are heavy and we can’t expect people to just come in and act like everything is normal. So I just ask that they do their best, and if they need to talk, I’m available. Also, if there is a time that they just are not in the right headspace, to please talk to me so we can make sure their work is supported if they need to take some personal time. We’re all only human, and sometimes it’s just going to be too much. They know that they are not alone. I also resurface the information/resources/access surrounding the mental health resources that we offer and tell them to please use them if they need them.
I was more disturbed by the MN lawmakers assassination
There were definitely comments, from those in politics, making light of the Hortman’s murders. I recall a Politico article about a dem representative confronting a republican rep in congress to tell him how hurtful his “celebration” post was
You vaguely referenced an article and event without sharing specifics, seemingly to highlight someone celebrating a death. Celebrating any death is inhumane, no matter the political context.
Manager 1 what do you mean “no names?” This was months ago how tf would I remember the names of some random congress people. I also avoid Politico now so I’m not gonnna go back and search for the names lol
