Took a gamble on this rye. Not only because the last few MGP-sourced ryes I’ve had were disappointing (The Senator, Knotter Rye), but also I’ve never had this mashbill before (51% rye, 49% malted barley). I’m a big Smoke Wagon (especially barrel proof) fan and it was retail so why not. I don’t have a sophisticated palette, so I can’t provide a proper review, but I was very impressed. Not as spicy as many ryes, and not as hot as the proof suggests. Thick mouthfeel, unique finish. (Lager v ale) 🥃
