Trump pausing FCPA enforcement. Any thoughts on how this will affect forensics practices?

It’s demoralizing, clients aren’t going to want to spend the money on proactive compliance if there aren’t any consequences. Current clients with pending enforcements are pretty unsure of what to do so uncertainty generally means less business for us as well.

Likely a big mess to clean up one the democrats come back in control, but until then, bribes are cool

I discussed this with a client today - the law isn’t going away per se and the next administration may want to focus on this again so it’s dangerous to think there isn’t a future risk here

Fair point, but also look at how the private sector responded to the government’s DEI purge as an analog. I don’t think anybody is acting with an eye towards a future, more enforcement-happy administration.

Cottage industry, “FCPA services”, was on a good ride, full of abundance. Now DOGE efficiency is disrupting these abundant cottage industries, like FCPA. FCPA professor has been discussing this topic for a long time-with the circle of prosecutors (sometimes with no accounting background) looking for a pay day in the private sector (through fear mongering), including with accounting firms. Game over. https://fcpaprofessor.com/quotable-fear-mongering-industry/

Now that Putin has declared the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk, I’m hoping the US will shake hands on the deal. It’s a fair compromise that gives ethnic Russians and Russian speakers a safe space while avoids a costly and lengthy war

I am an Audit S1 that wants to work in a B4 Forensics practice. Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
