Unpopular Opinion Ai is here to stay, it’s only getting better every day. Who survives and who doesn’t?
I say creatives are the ones at most risk, probably copy people first.

I’ve seen AI try its hand at many agency disciplines and I think we’re AIght for awhile

like

I think people with less than 10 years of experience are at risk in all departments. The biggest concern I have is the lack of training, core skills and critical thinking the next generation of professionals will have as a result of relying so heavily on AI. We can draw on our experience to evaluate what AI generates they can’t.

@acd3 they’ll also never beat a client at their own financial constraints

I've seen AI copy. Im not worried.

Ai will be the new data revolution. Remember All power to all the analysts? But then guess what, the math didn’t math and turned out the creative instincts that went against the data came out on top again. Same story here. People don’t *seem to* care, but marketing that doesn’t get people to care can’t last.

Does anyone think AI is going away? ‘AI is here to stay’ is not an unpopular opinion lol.

likefunny

I don’t think anyone disagrees that machine learning is here to stay.

But it is not artificial intelligence, it is detrimental to the environment, expensive, and it is not good at many of the tasks our C-suite purports it does. It cannot think, only summarize and replicate.

Additionally, its use atrophies the brain, and if jr and mid talent isn’t nurtured, we will face a massive reality check when there is no one to fix the robot’s mediocre work.

I asked AI if it was detrimental to the environment and it said “what do you mean 😈 “

An ECD I’ve worked with keeps using AI written manifestos in pitches and it’s so obvious. They’re rife with cliches and tropes the kind of work you’d criticise even if an intern wrote it.

Lazy creatives are in trouble. Or the ones who are hired just to handle the day-to-day stuff, cranking out assets without really trying to level up.

I don't know. I'd like to see AI try to annotate a pharma ad without going insane

are you sure about that? Maybe wishful thinking but I hope AI implodes on itself and fails

Chat has already consumed everything. Literally. They’ve run out of data to feed it, so they’re opening it up to its own work. How much better can it get?

People without talent? In trouble. Talented, smart creatives who are adaptable will probably be mostly fine.

Learn to think big picture.

Being able to write or design will not be a needed skill set in 5 years.

Being able to truly evaluate if what you're developing is a real platform with actionable takeaways for the target audience is.

Here we go again. No one cares about new and unique work except for us creatives. Haven’t you gotten that by now?

Account and strategy are trying to clock out of work as soon as possible. They couldn’t care less about your originality. They’ll use AI to get out of the office asap.

Clients want safe work that hits their KPIs and performance numbers as cheaply as possible. They don’t care about getting a Cannes Lion.

AI will give them this. Your quality of work won’t.

AI is coming for you regardless of the quality of work you make.

Understand this and prepare yourself.

No offense to strat or account. It’s jut about what is needed and what is not. Right now snd in the future, no one needs creativity.

Allen Iverson is still playing?

like

It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. I don’t think we’re in danger of being replaced though, for the most part you still need us to find human insights, be creative and come up with (kinda) new shit. For all AI can do, it’s incapable of having imagination or generating new ideas.

like

Except no one cares for that but creatives. AI is going to replace the shit out of you if you think quality of work will protect you.

You must not be a creative. AI is awful at creative. Mostly bc it pulls from things that already exist. Creativity is creating something new and unique. Cannot happen with AI. At least in its current form. Also, creative is based on behavioral insights. These gems can’t be pulled from AI. Only human experience can capture those moments and magic. For now. And I think for a long time. I don’t actually expect AI to ever replace true creativity. It’s a human-only deliverable.

Yes copywriters must learn to
Master AI

"I hypothesize a kind of subprime AI crisis is brewing," Zitron wrote, "where almost the entire tech industry has bought in on a technology sold at a vastly-discounted rate, heavily-centralized and subsidized by big tech. What happens when the entire tech industry relies on the success of a kind of software that only loses money, and doesn’t create much value to begin with?"

https://futurism.com/openai-trouble-subprime

It’s still artificial intelligence. Ours is not artificial. That’s all I have to say about that.

The people most at risk are actually the juniors across all categories.
Those are the roles that right now AI can already replace

been working with AI for a year now and I will be the first to tell you, the term LLM (learning language model = AI) is a MISNOMER. it learns MARGINALLY, takes FORVER to get it to learn something new. once it latches on to a prompt, it stays with it and does not factor in the new patterns that writers use afterwards. truth be told? Fear the reaper, but do not fear AI because at this stage, it's still kind of learning-impaired

Has anyone ever worked at an agency in which the project management department was properly utilized? I traditionally was brought up in my career where PM type tasks were handled by lower level AMs. I have observed separating AM and PM tasks into two separate departments just causes communication issues and lazy account people. Account people should have a good understanding of how much effort and time goes into a project. Project Managers are missing a lot of context so blind leading blind.
