Unpopular opinion: CNA assignments are often unrealistic and we’ve normalized it. Being “used to it” doesn’t mean it’s okay. Thoughts?

Things like unrealistic expectations have become normalized across the industry. It all relates to the constant push to cut costs. Management will push people relentlessly until there's some pushback.

True! I’m sure these unrealistic expectations have been normalized in many other industries as well, not just healthcare. Really makes me wonder if the issue is gonna continue to grow, or if people are ever gonna try and fight for more realistic expectations?

Unfortunately this is true for all kinds of jobs, especially in emotional labor positions like healthcare and education. But what can you do when you have a specific skillset and you desperately need work?

Very good point! I’ve been considering easing out of healthcare for a while, but like you said, I have a specific skill set and don’t really know where I’d go!

I agree. I feel like jobs lately have been scrambling to get more help and everyone has been taking more load and apparently it’s the “new normal”

Yes, I agree with this 100%! Not just CNAs, and not just healthcare. I think it’s become the new norm in many industries.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!
