What’s the deal with RFPs? I’ve spent countless [non-billable] hours on several of them only to find out that I’m not included in the actual proposal (the document sent to the client showcasing the proposed case team). Is this normal?

I’m a junior in big law and in the short time I’ve been here, I’ve noticed that counsels produce perfect drafts and yet aren’t partners but partners can’t write two sentences without numerous typos. Shouldn’t counsels be partners and partners counsels instead?

My s/o has been approached for representation as a motion director. Commercial animation. Can anyone point me in the direction of any resources on what he should look out for in a representation agreement?

I’m a digital producer and have no clue what’s fair / what fees these types of production companies typically take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Reps, you have a client who you’ve had for less than a year. You’ve helped them secure a couple small jobs in that time span. They book a big job with an agency that isn’t a house account but certain producers and clients at that agency are noted as house accounts. The job came through a reco from one of those house account producers. Do you charge the full 25k commission, even though you didn’t really have a hand in the sale, and the client already had a strong relationship with the agency?

Reps: do you feel it’s wrong to submit Freece directors for jobs over your paying rostered clients? If the lead isn’t a fit for your rostered clients is leaving the opportunity (and potential money) on the table the “right” thing to do or are you stuck feeling a sense of loyalty to the producer seeking talent?
