Don’t think people there are thinking about environmental issues when daily survival is a challenge for many. It’s still a developing nation and majority of people are below the poverty line for even Indian standards.
Sorry I meant “here” as in America where small scale initiatives make a big impact even locally.
Civic sense is definitely lacking, but I think that’s a SYMPTOM of the problem, and not a CAUSE of it. Politicians get elected by scamming the system, so people have lost faith in the government. And I feel like that’s why common people just don’t care. Why should they care about the country when the country doesn’t care about them? The blame has to be at the top, and not at the “people”. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah I agree, but I think it’s no different than what’s going on here. People will vote against their own interest because of religion, caste (in India) and race (in America). It’s actually pretty nuts.
Really ?! Feeling the outside pollution sitting in an airplane - they have HEPA filtered climate controlled air ....

And OP, if you went there after living in almost pollution free environment. Your lungs are not used to smoke particles. All major metros in the world have pollution, over population, infrastructure and crime.
