You won’t officially be employed by both at the same time. Sounds really nice that KBR is being so gracious about you taking on an interim role. May is a long way away. A lot can happen between now and then.
You’d only have one but it would work at either company. Once you obtain them they transfer with you not the project, company, whatever
So if you went to Lockheed and got a clearance if you were to switch to kbr you wouldn’t go through the process again, you’d be wherever you were when you switched.
I’d also say May might be an optimistic target. We generally budget at least six months and if you have any kind of complex case it can be way longer.
Take the job with NG. Per my experience working there, is a good company. A lot can happen in 5 months.
In their mind they did w/your sign bonus
Focus on what experience and skills you will get first and salary second. It is risky for a company to hire someone, train them, and give them responsibility without truly knowing the persons capability until they start to work for them. If you want to stay near home and Northrop Grumman is the closest company and you like the position I would stick with that and stay for 2-5 years. As others have stated as long as you don't have any issues getting a security clearance two checks going on at the same time should not be an issue. NG offered you an earlier position for comparable salary so seems like an amazing opportunity.
