I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon

I think as a queer person, you have a responsibility and obligation to be educated about LGBT history and civil rights. I know I definitely didn’t learn about it in school, so it’s on me to educate myself. I’m white and cis and I’ve benefitted from those before me that fought for our rights. Reading about it helps me appreciate that fact and not lose sight of my privilege.
Why did you assume the correlation to queerness level and books- that’s not the only way to learn? The comment below about specifically that gay priest, who has a lot of books and none related to queerness, in context, is a problem. When it comes to the personal issue you lay out, what issue do you have? you are painting all quiet people with a with broad brush. Not all queers are open minded and not all shame you for a perceived level of queerness. For me, I don’t care what form you educate yourself with or how vocal it is, I personally find it very important to learn history and value representation - i have found this in any community I am a part of; queer, sports team (when I was competitive), even volunteer communities. Know what came before to be thankful for what you have now.
Maybe he took it as a sign for a bigger problem (lack of self acceptance). Not saying he’s right but he tries to armchair therapist people and that’s a fast way in.

I can see both sides of this argument. Maybe he just expected to see one or two books - and not necessarily about being queer, but by queer authors. Although, some of my favorite books that include queer characters are not about being queer at all! I do think find it important to learn the history of this community, though, even though my queerness is not that overt.
