We build customer journeys, optimize pipelines, and drive “value”—but for who? When our tools scale revenue but not dignity, when “success” means working weekends, it’s time to ask: are we empowering people or just feeding the machine? Real innovation puts humans first—not just stakeholders. Imagine systems where collaboration means ownership, not just alignment. The future of work shouldn’t be extractive. It should be ours to shape—together.

Idealism vs capitalism.
How will one more yacht be purchased if the analysts don't squeeze out more value for partners to show to the stakeholders. If anything, last two years have shown we will never achieve a vision of employee centric organizations, rather companies will do what they can to wrestle any semblance of control away from mid to lower tier employees in hopes of subservience

Idealism vs capitalism’ is a false choice. This system isn’t failing to center workers—it’s succeeding at exploiting them by design. It won’t evolve into justice; it was never meant to. You don’t reform extraction. You end it.

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.

Who is still in denial about a housing correction? The Fed just made another .75% increase. Powell said they won’t stop until inflation is 2%. He also said a recession would be better than the consequences of unchecked inflation. He announced he will bring rates to a “restrictive level” until “the job is done”. He said that labor demand needs to soften (ie: layoffs). He very explicitly said he wants to slash demand and that housing needs a “correction”.

Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!

I am a woman who has been working as a tech PE investor for 8 months now, and have been feeling extremely discouraged by my experiences in this sector so far. I regularly get mistaken as the “administrative assistant” in meetings and email chains, have had things said to me by men such as “the only way you work in private equity is as a receptionist”, and have even been at networking events where men have literally grabbed my ass when no one was looking. Any advice on how to handle this?

Also in terms of seniority and salary are these roles any different?
