We fired our Director of Ops. They felt he was doing nothing. The position had transferred hands several times without any sustainability or systems put in place. I was told I’m now responsible for operations (on top of my role) but that it should only take 20% of my time. We have a small staff - just 6 people - but my new duties include general business ops, office management, HR, and IT/tech, and on top of that, everything is a mess. Does 20% FTE seem reasonable for a company of our size?

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team?
