Weekends always feel too short. How do you maximize what you get done over the weekends

I usually have a few tasks I want to accomplish and I just jump into them and see how it goes. And if it's a weekend for socializing I just devote myself to that. I really don't worry too much about maximizing it, if I get a lot done, great, if not, that's fine. This weekend I wanted to do some gardening jobs but it's just too hot, so I'll probably just catch up on reading instead.

I have what I need to do, and then what I want to do. If I can check off one from each, I’m happy.

I have to make a plan for myself or I will inevitably waste it sitting on the couch watching Netflix. I had going to Costco, getting an oil change, cleaning the bathrooms and getting caught up on laundry on this weekend's agenda. 3/4 done so far. I just need to get the oil change taken care of and I'll be able to relax.

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

Hi. I have applied for a job in an academic setting for a leadership role in cancer research. Duties would have me responsible for a small team of research nurses as well as other managerial duties for the department. I have been a research nurse for 3 years now, but I have no experience applying for a salaried position or a role in leadership. What sort of salary would be appropriate to ask for? I know that I should aim high and let them counter, but how high exactly? Thanks I’m advance

How much should a person with a Masters in pharm/tox expect to make?

I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!

I previously worked at a doctors office as a care manager for 4 years, but outside of my academic work I don’t have experience in research. What advice do you all have for entering the field in my position?
Thanks!!
