We’re onboarding three new team members this month—and I’m realizing we don’t have a real system.
Just a patchwork of tribal knowledge, outdated docs, and Slack threads.
It’s exhausting, and it’s not fair to the new folks.
Has anyone built an onboarding flow that actually scales without burning out the team?

Have a few questions regarding IBM Joining, HR response is strangely lacking and so does in the slack(prejoin channels). Hoping can be cleared here..
a) I've been told virtual onboarding is no longer a thing.
How many days does in-person onboarding activities occur?
b) HR Informed,"After onboarding is complete, can get perm WFH based on project or extension of WFH as IBM is flexible"
Is this true? Can managers extend/grant remote for a month then let us transit to remote model?

Why the heck do Recruiters and Hiring managers do such a poor job keeping applicants informed to the status. I had my time wasted with an opportunity for a fortune 100 position for 3 1/2 months. Phone Screens, Zoom Interview with hiring manager, Face to face with hiring manager. (Then asked for professional references) , impromptu Zoom meet with other leader who was completely disengaged. Then boom... six weeks of silence vague texts from hiring manager they were still going thru the process..

Does anybody else think that the Wharton Slack & Discord groups are kinda quiet/inactive compared to admit groups from other schools?

A female friend of mine recently received a settlement in a sexual harassment action against her employer during mediation. Upon receiving her (female) attorney’s final bill she was blown away to discover that her attorney charged her almost five times what the attorney estimated she would charge for the mediation. I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Really struggling to pick up all of the slack from all of the colleagues that do have kids and feel like the expectation is that parents should turn off while the rest are working from 7am - 2am everyday to make up for it.

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Feeling like my students aren’t getting what they should because I am struggling with Zoom, Microsoft, safe YouTube, bitmoji, embedding, downloads, editing, etc. Anyone else feeling this way?

Anyone else getting conflicting messages on whether it is permissible to use Zoom with federal agencies? Some are insisting on using it (MSPB), some are saying absolutely can't use it (DHS, USDA).

Is it good to get stocks as part of CTC which has 4 years vesting period?

CTC looks high due to this stocks but effectively i would not be getting it for the 4 years. Also the yearly hike includes this stock component.

CTC had fixed, variable and stock part. Variable and stock is almost 30% of total ctc.

Currently an engineer in MCOL area with 4 years experience (post graduating, not counting experience before/during college and large side gigs). I have a BS/MS/PhD in engineering and an MBA in business analytics. Currently making 100k as an engineer IV. As an engineer with a functional knowledge (but no former training) in IT and data analytics, what are the best avenues to get to 200k without changing fields and starting at an entry level position (or moving to a HCOL area)?
