I think it will depend entirely on the material you import.
Before importing from Asia, verify that they are quality products and if another company recommends them beforehand, so much better.
It depends on what you are importing. Asia is a better option for us, as the cost of goods is generally lower there. Additionally, many of the products we import are sourced from Asia, so it is a natural fit.
I haven't come across many companies that import extensively from South America, it seems that Asia is more industrialized for exports. It could just be the area in which I specialize though (small consumer electronics). So I would assume Asia to be a better fit, though I could obviously be wrong
My organization specializes in exporting goods from Asia, so it's pretty obvious which one I would recommend :) I'm not AGAINST exporting from S. America, it's just a matter of the existing contacts we have with suppliers in Thailand, Vietnam, etc.
