Looking to pivot from Sales at Bloomberg to Management Consulting/Change Management Consulting in the NYC area. 4 years working experience. Certainly open to Big 4 firms, but also to boutique consulting firms. Now, I want to step into a generalist role, but realize I lack some aspects of experience that I maybe could have gotten as an HR coordinator. Serious question: do I *need* MBB on my resume to have good exit ops from consulting? I have an M7 MBA, but struggled to land interviews because I didn’t have big brands on my resume (confirmed by recruiters). I wouldn’t be surprised if most/all F100 and FAANG hired MBB only.

I am looking at a graduate program that will allow 15 credits in elective courses (which I will use for CS coursework) and I want to transition into either a SWE or Product/Project Manager role. The school I am considering is a top large public university in a area saturated by tech jobs and has one of the largest FAANG alumni networks. Am I being unrealistic or will those courses alongside some projects be possibly enough?
