What’s the most a tax senior associate can make?
Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Congrats on the interview! One question that always stands out to interviewers is, “What’s the team dynamic like, and how does the company support professional growth?” You could also ask, “What’s the biggest challenge someone in this role might face, and how can they succeed?” Good luck!
Thank you so much!
Assuming it hadn't already been covered, you could ask something about the company culture. That could provide kind of a soft ending to an interview. I've heard that it's always good to ask why the previous person in the job left, but that always seems like kind of a probing question. But if you can find a graceful way of posing that question it might elicit some interesting info.
I like that question about why the previous person left. Thank you!
