Weaponizes performance review.
Have you been put on a performance improvement plan? That's your sign.
You stop getting the really fun/good assignments. Demeanor changes towards you. And the hairs on the back of your neck start to rise.
Yessss this!!!!

You watch them go into the company fridge, take out you Thanksgiving leftover sandwich (with the moist maker), open it, spit in it, wrap it back up, place it back in the fridge, then walk away.
Gives new meaning to moisture maker.
When he/she diminishes your role to the point where they can justify laying you off, because you are too senior for the role they have forced upon you.
Happened to me
For me it’s that they weren’t engaging the same way with me as they were with others, and there was generally an off vibe. Almost as if you knew that as soon as you left the room and the door closed behind you, they were absolutely taking s#it about you. Myself and a few others were grandfathered in to a new CCO who, I know now, was really pretentious about only using/hiring their “own” people. I could have had 10 gold lions to my name and they still wouldn’t have liked me. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do about it and you have to leave.
If you're asking then you already know. Trust your gut

You ask yourself whether your boss doesn’t like you
My boss didn’t talk to me for two years - a sign for sure.
When he starts to imagine that you're against him and he thinks that you're going to usurp his authority so his attitude is formal reserved than it was before no jokes no laughing no good job dude.
Don’t take it personal. Use it. Being liked is overrated. Many bosses don’t have the luxury or the emotional intelligence to show up for their employees. And some bosses are only happy when they can make everyone else miserable. I had a boss who seemed to only like some employees. But eventually everyone got on their bad side. I fought like hell for my team and took a lot of the backlash. But I still was respected (and financially rewarded) for the work I did and feared for the potential of me leaving and allowing a large vacuum to appear in the department. I left on excellent terms, but my boss still found a reason to give me a hard time while I was leaving. It’s a shame really. I gave some of the best years and some of the best work of my career to that place and I miss my team.
