A11, the reason for my question is that I’ve been working on some family genealogy, including collecting and digitizing photographs of my grandfather, who was a businessman in the 1920s through 1950s and lost his hair at a young age. I can only think of one outdoor photo from that time in which he’s not wearing a fedora. Hats were definitely a thing back in the day. His father was a cabinetmaker who fancied bowlers, which were common among working class tradesmen in the 1890s and early 1900s
