For those that don’t get it, it’s insulting. I worked plenty of those “low skilled” jobs to get myself through college. You do what you have to do to earn a living. It doesn’t make you less than.

What’s wrong with that? Just nitpicking that “low-skilled” is not respectful? C’mon
If a person says something that is inherently classist, offensive, rude, and also inaccurate (there are plenty who have academic skills to sit in the corner office), we cant justify that statement by looking at things from the bigger picture. That perpetuates systemic discrimination. Whatever or however good his intention was, this sheds light on how he perceives those people to be “low skill” and not have the academic skills. Why do these jobs amount to requiring low skills?? It requires a lot of skills. Also many immigrants are highly educated in native countries but become the dishwashers, messengers, etc because of english skills. Brushing off those comments and treating them lightly is exactly what’s wrong here.

govt has delayed some debts. but some things like the rent moratoriums have ended and the student debt will still restart by summer. im pretty sure evictions also started up again
contracting is almost nonexistent. testing? we are only now going to get tests in the mail and that was because of basklash. we never got masks in the mail. ppp are loans, and a lot of ppp was taken by companies that didnt need it
vaccines are free but what about other meds? a diabetic is protected from covid ut they still have diabetes
what outreach? i get some pesky reminders via text but theres still a lot of misinfo and disinfo spreading. theres no real serious push to educate people properly.
